Achieving Your Level Of Finish
No lining material has a surface that is perfectly flat and free or minor imperfections.
Often ‘reasonable expectation’ and ‘attainability’ are not the same.
The building materials used in a specific location will determine the final quality. This ‘reasonable’ expectation needs to be explained to the client. With attention to design, the correct installation of the internal linings and consideration of how light impacts on the surface, visual imperfections can be minimised. The specified ‘Level of Finish’ for each internal area needs to be carefully chosen and agreed upon to best disguise these imperfections and meet the owner’s expectations.
Level of Finish
The Level of Finish is a tool for specifying the required quality of finish when installing and stopping plasterboard before the application of decorative finishes under a variety of lighting conditions.
